Steeped in history and surrounded by the natural beauty of Virginia's James River, Upper Brandon Plantation provided a timeless setting for Catherine and Jay's elegant Southern wedding. The couple embraced the estate's rich heritage with a celebration that felt classic, welcoming, and effortlessly refined, allowing the beauty of the property to take center stage.
Inspired by the plantation's majestic magnolia trees and historic architecture, we designed a custom stationery collection that reflected the character of the weekend. A bespoke crest, luxurious letterpress printing, delicate embossing, and hand-beveled edges created an heirloom-quality invitation suite, while botanical illustrations and a palette of navy, ivory, and soft green carried the design seamlessly from the first impression through the final farewell.
Throughout the celebration, thoughtful details honored both the destination and the guest experience. Magnolia motifs appeared throughout the paper goods, custom welcome gifts greeted guests upon arrival, and even young magnolia trees were gifted as meaningful keepsakes—a lasting reminder of a weekend spent celebrating beneath the trees that inspired the entire design.
Elegant without feeling formal, Catherine and Jay's wedding beautifully captured the enduring charm of one of Virginia's most historic estates. It was a celebration rooted in tradition, elevated by thoughtful design, and filled with details that felt both personal and timeless.
