TRADITIONAL LAVENDER TEXAS WEDDING

There is something about Texas weddings that is extra special. Maybe because everything is bigger and better in Texas…but we love nothing more than a classic Texas wedding. So imagine our excitement when Mia and Greg asked us for help with their traditional lavender Texas wedding! This adorable couple’s reception was held at the historic Houston Country Club. Overall, the couple wanted to keep wedding design formal and traditional to compliment design of the club. Since they’re both from the South, they also wanted to add in some Southern flair to keep things fun! Their purple inspired color scheme ended up being SO on trend color-wise. Right after Mia and Greg sent out their save the dates, Pantone named Ultra Violet as their 2018 color of the year! For the couple’s wedding monogram, Mia wanted the design to be classic. So we ended up designing a traditional interlocking monogram in a couple different shades of purple. We love when bride and groom’s dress up something classic (like an interlocking monogram) with a modern twist (like a fun color way)! From the beginning, Mia knew she wanted to include a couple of luxurious accents into their traditional lavender Texas wedding invitations. We incorporated her requests (purple letterpress, thick paper, and a purple satin ribbon) into a script font heavy design. To make their royal color scheme pop, we also added in a lavender beveled edge. Their interlocking monogram ended up being the star of their invitation, as the monogram hung on a tag attached to the the purple satin bow. For day-of wedding paper, the couple kept the same traditional, Southern vibe with monogrammed accents and fun touches. Our favorite wedding day detail? The couple’s cocktail napkins featured a picture of the couple’s Basset Hound, Barney! We could not have had more fun working on Mia and Greg’s special day, and love how everything turned out! Congrats to this cute couple!!
